SIZING
Bunker Pants Sizing
Ensure that your belt measurement is precise. With your bunker pants on or whichever gear pants you are measuring for, wrap a tailored tape (soft sewing tape) around your waist and cinch it to the desired tightness, pinch the tape to find your measurement. You can also use your existing belt, tighten to your desired fit and remove the belt, lay on a flat surface and measure it from where the two ends connect. Another options is you can use a "backboard strap" wrap that around your waist with your pants on and tighten to your desired fit then measure the point where it CONNECTS, important to not measure the very ends of the buckle.
Similarly the same can be used for your duty/Uniform belt sizing. It is worth noting that a belt size could differ by up to two sizes from your pant size therefore measuring might be necessary.
Measure from point A to point B to get your measurement.
(There are many ways to measure a belt and this just happens to be how I do it)
Radio Strap Sizing
The first way to measure the strap length by placing a tailor's measuring tape or soft measuring ribbon over the shoulder as though it were a radio strap. Once in position, identify a comfortable fit and mark the measurement.
Secondly, drape a piece of string or rope over your shoulder and pinch the points at either end. Lay the string on a flat surface and measure from the end of the string to the pinched point for the overall strap length.
BEST OPTION, you may use an existing radio strap that your department issued or a friends, adjust it to your comfort as your would wear it for duty. Once set, remove the radio holster and lay it on a flat surface and measure it tip to tip, making sure to include the hardware. (See photos below)
